Cron expression explainer
Human-readable cron expressions, with a visual next-10-runs preview.
About this tool
Turns a five-field cron expression into plain English and lists the next ten times it will fire, in your browser's timezone. It's quicker than counting asterisks, and it catches the classic day-of-month-or-day-of-week surprise.
Good for
- Reviewing a crontab or Kubernetes CronJob schedule before it ships
- Checking when a job will next run without waiting for it
- Explaining a schedule to someone who doesn't read cron
Not for
- Six- or seven-field formats with seconds or years (Quartz, Spring), macros such as @daily, or the L, W, and # extensions
- systemd OnCalendar expressions, which use a different grammar
- Servers that don't run in your browser's timezone: shift the times yourself, or run the server in UTC
